This historic stadium was host to at the time the Erwin High Yellow Jackets which started in 1922 to the last game of 1936. The stadium first opened November 9th of 1935 when Erwin took on Morristown unfortunately losing 7-19. September 10th of 1937 was when the school's name and team changed to the Unicoi County Blue Devils and the school played the first game as the Blue Devils against Mary Hughes high school winning 46-0.
