Hite Field in Clarksburg WV was constructed in the 1920's and was opened for use as an athletic field for all Harrison County schools. The original name for it was WI Field and renamed Hite Field in 1951 or 1952 when Clay B. Hite retired as Head Coach at Washington Irving High School. He had been instrumental in it's construction as the 1st high school athletic field in the County.
